Neda Al-Hilali
American
Celebrated California-based fiber artist and weaver Neda Al-Hilali creates wall hangings and large-scale installations that express the harmony, energy, and attentiveness of the artistic process.
Neda Al-Hilali grew up in Czechoslovakia, lived in Iraq for some years in the late 1950s, before moving to California in 1961. She studied textile arts at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), earning a Bachelor of Art degree (1965) and a Master of Art degree (1968). Her artworks are in the collections of many museums, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington D.C.
