UW Medical Center Northwest Curated Collection in Seattle, curated by Dawna Holloway, 2024

Curator Dawna Holloway was tasked by a local Art Selection Committee with identifying artworks that would create a welcoming, peaceful environment for the patient floors of the new Behavioral Health Teaching facility, at the University of Washington’s Medical Center Northwest in North Seattle. She chose twelve landscape photographs by artists based in the Northwest, and worked with the building administrators, architect, and contractor to select locations and proof samples before installation. The twelve photographs were printed onto Acrovyn, an industrial wall covering. They span floor-to-ceiling to bring the lushness of nature inside, transforming residents’ somewhat sterile surroundings. (April 2024)
