ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Cassiopeia's Aviary is a mixed media assemblage by artist Neda Al-Hilali. The exuberantly colorful and energetic piece is composed of overlapping painted and cut-out layers. The artist notes "the bright colors, the swirling movement, and the animated random pattering suggestive of plant forms and tumbling feathers aim at providing a glimpse of 'Cassiopeia's realm", a utopian world of joyful life without limitations"
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Battle Ground School District.
