(American, born 1942)

Location: Starbuck School, Starbuck

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Changes X is part of a suite of ten prints by artist Frank Boyden. He printed them at North Light Editions in Portland, Oregon. He created the compositions by scratching into a layer of ink on a lithographic stone. He used needles, razors, serrated objects, and sandpaper to do this. The imagery features salmon and raven figures. He notes, "The two animals are archetypal in these prints and take various forms as they act and interact with each other. They have forms. They are shadows. They are reflections."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Central Kitsap School District.
