ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Natural Sequence is a fiber installation created by artist Mary Donovan. It is comprised of four woven wool tapestries. Each tapestry features different contrasting colors. Together, the abstract composition highlights pattern, repetition, and color relationships.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Steilacoom Historical School District and Battle Ground School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
New York-based artist Mary Donovan creates woven tapestries and fiber artworks. She studied fine arts and art history at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, and the National College of Art in Dublin, Ireland. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Parsons School of Design in New York City in 1981.
