Louise Williams
(American, born 1947, died 2004)
Location: Warden Elementary/Middle/High School, Warden
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Movement was created by late artist Louise Williams as a celebration of unity, peace, and the power of the human will. It is made of a central photocopied news image collaged, with added fabric, paint, and crayon elements. The image shows Rwandan people displaced by their civil war. In the face of this conflict, Williams aims to show us the beauty in our relationships and the power of compassion.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Warden School District.
