End of the Rainbow, 1985
Katherine Holzknecht
(American, born 1954)
Location: Centennial Elementary, Graham
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
End of the Rainbow is part of a series of woven wall sculptures created by artist Katherine Holzknecht using found objects and interwoven computer wires. She was inspired to create a three-dimensional pyramid form, and notes that this piece was structurally challenging to realize. Speaking to the benefits of this challenge, the artist states that "actualizing the images in our minds can be a healthy means of growth and progress. No matter how difficult the task or how long the road seems, if we keep the goal in focus we can reach it."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Bethel School District.
