Connie Ritchie
(American, born 1954)

Location: Washington Middle School, Yakima

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

‘Experience the World Through Your Senses’ is a series of 18 hand-painted photographs by artist Connie Ritchie. The series celebrates how our five senses (sight, smell, sound, taste, and touch) unify us all and connect our experiences to our memories, imagination, sense of place, and community. 'Snow' depicts several children playing in the snow, as well as the unique delight and sensation of catching snowflakes on your tongue. It is installed next to 'Apple' as two visual representations of taste.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Yakima School District.
