ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Cloud from Another Horizon is part of artist Patricia Glander Martinez's body of geometric landscape paintings. These paintings focus on cloud formations and explore mood, hue, space, and time. This piece layers clouds with colorful outlines and forms. She notes, "The square format of the painting has been divided in three different rectangular areas, each with its own story, but tied together with overlapping geometrical shapes and singleness of purpose."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Lake Stevens School District and Mount Vernon School District.

Florida-based artist Patricia Glander Martinez pursued a career in television and theater before studying fine art. She creates photographs and paintings.
