ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Multiplicity is a mosaic sculpture created by artist Laura Sindell for Green River College. The artwork features a terrazzo cylinder inlaid with mosaic tiling. A patterned mosaic "rug" emerges from the cylinder form, surrounded by slate tile flooring. Together the elements reference parchment and birch bark scrolls. The cylindrical form also suggests stone columns, fallen logs, and driftwood. The mosaic rug references the microscopic patterning found in a computer chip.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Green River Community College.
