ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The glowing pink and blue seascape Great Blue Heron was captured by photographer Earl Olsen in the early morning on Orcas Island, after spotting the majestic bird feeding along the waterfront.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Battle Ground School District.

Northwest photographer Earl Olsen creates his images to "see the unseen in the commonplace that surrounds us every day." He lives and works on Whidbey Island, Northwestern Washington.
