ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist David Grant Best captured Wave Wash on Cliff, Oregon Coast using a long exposure, which created the effect of blurred, flowing water. He notes that this image contains many dynamic relationships, including "light versus dark, moving versus still, hard versus soft, real versus imagined, comfortable versus unsettling."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Riverview School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Northwest photographer David Grant Best composes images of the natural environment and rural communities. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from the University of Washington in 1972.
