ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Spiral Snake #3 is a monotype by artist Nancy Halbrooks. It is part of a group of prints featuring spiral and snake imagery. She notes that these artworks “were inspired by my ongoing love of spirals and my attraction to the snake as a symbol of transformation. The snake becomes the spiral and is lost within the pattern of its movement.”
Monotypes are unique prints created by painting directly onto the printing plate. Usually only one print can be made from the plate.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Sultan School District.
