ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Jim's Spirit Basket is a hand-coiled basket created by artist Dona Anderson. This piece features a bold, sculptural form, which is complemented by abstract birds emerging from the center. This basket was created to celebrate the life and spirit of the artist's son-in-law, Jim. She notes "the shape of the basket reminds me of his openness."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Arlington School District.
