ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Emergence by Kipp Kobayashi is based on the patterns of insects schooling, flocking and shoaling in the local environment around Ellensburg and Central Washington University. The artwork and its insect patterns connect the natural and manmade worlds around us. They also reference the building's role as a campus crossing point and in bringing together the Department of Health Sciences.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Central Washington University.
