ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Winter Light II is an energetic impressionistic painting by artist Brooke Borcherding. She uses bold blocks of color to capture the scene. It is part of her body of landscapes created "en plein air" on location.
Curator Kathleen Garrett selected this artwork as part of a curated collection for Peninsula College in Port Angeles. The artworks installed in Keegan Hall reflect the Pacific Northwest and the many subjects taught in the building. These include Aquaculture, Physics, Biology, and Information Technology.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Peninsula College.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Seattle-based artist Brooke Borcherding paints landscapes. Her paintings show colorful and dynamic scenes that engage the viewer. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting from the University of Oregon, Eugene.
