Echo-Round, 2018
Julie Berger
(American, born 1956)
Location: Department of Transportation - North Central Region, Wenatchee, Wenatchee
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist Julie Berger created the sculpture Echo-Round using posts of weathering steel. Arranged in a circle, the composition hints at seasonal cycles and repetition found in nature. The rhythmic changes in the height of the posts reference the hills surrounding Wenatchee. Berger states, "The arrangement tells the story of the seasons while casting strong shadows across the concrete base as the sun rises and sets, stretching and extending onto the foliage in the meadow."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Department of Transportation.
