Things to Consider, 2017

Garth Edwards
(American, born 1950, died 2021)

Location: Union Ridge Elementary School, Ridgefield

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Artist Garth Edwards created many plant and animal figures for his installation Things to Consider . Cut from aluminum sheeting, they circle the outside of Union Ridge Elementary. The figures are grouped into different scenes, sparking students' and teachers' imagination and curiosity. In his body of work, Edwards often strives for open-ended stories, delight, and wonder. At Union Ridge, his playfulness extends to the extra bird panel he installed inside the school. This additional element is not 'officially' part of the State Art Collection.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Ridgefield School District.
