ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Flying is a six-piece mixed media installation created by artist Catherine Woods. The design gives viewers the experience of flying over a magical landscape, with animal shapes forming part of the topography of three islands. The artist notes, "The sylized panorama incorporates wonders from around the world fostering curiosity about diverse cultures, architecture, and history."

Florida-based artist Catherine Woods creates glass and metal installations for public spaces. Before becoming a professional artist, she pursued a twelve-year career in advertising.
