Open Books, 2002

Patrick Anderson
(American, born 1961)

Location: Campbell Hill Elementary, Seattle

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Inspired by the realism of old master works, artist Patrick Anderson created the still-life Open Books by composing objects in his studio. Often choosing books as his subjects, this piece reflects a love of learning and the open possibilities of a blank page.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Renton School District.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Seattle-based artist Patrick Anderson creates still-life and cityscape drawings and prints that bring together classical artistic techniques in modern, graphic compositions.
