ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Array is part of a three-part installation by artist Irene Pijoan. The three artworks conceptually depict different human systems and relate to the medical specialties at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

This component is celebrates neurology research at Harborview Medical Center. It features imagery inspired by different types of neurons in the brain.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with University of Washington.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Artist Irene Pijoan (1953-2004) created conceptually powerful figurative and abstract artworks using a wide range of materials and techniques. She was an influential professor at the San Francisco Art Institute in California for over 20 years.
