ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Morning Light is part of a body of paintings by artist Kathleen Caprario featuring landscape images bordered by gold-leafed frames. The decorative frame provides a “separation between the interior image and the outside world.” They feature motifs inspired by designs from the Italian Renaissance (1400-1700), Byzantine Empire (395-1453), and Native American cultures.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with North Thurston Public Schools.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
