ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Running on Hot Rocks is a painted ceramic wall sculpture by artist Philip Jameson. Composed of abstracted images of natural, human, and mechanical forms, this work "implies the sensitive balance between man, technology, and the environment."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Kent School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
California-based artist Philip Jameson creates two-dimensional and ceramic artworks that investigate technology and man's impact on the environment. Noting that art can be a force for change, Jameson seeks to "create awareness of these problems so we can return to a natural balance within our lives, the earth, and existence."
