ABOUT THE ARTWORK
At the Threshold is a portrait by artist Susan Seniuk that captures an anonymous family posed in front of a shadowy doorway. The image was sourced from a small photograph found by the artist in a magazine. While playing with scale and medium, Seniuk also points to her reworking of the photograph, printed using of half-tone dots, as an expressive method to examine concepts of family, cohesion, and fragmentation.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Bethel School District.
