Thin Edge, 1980

George Miyasaki
(American, born 1935, died 2013)

Location: Spokane Falls Community College, Spokane

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Thin Edge is an example of artist George Miyasaki's body of abstract work that explores geometric and color relationships. Featuring printed and collaged elements, this piece was created by layering thin papers and acrylic paint. Texture was then added by passing the collage through an etching press, which picked up a random series of scratches etched into the printing plate.

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Washington State University.
