ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Recess is a textile artwork created by artist Macduff Everton. He created the composition using tightly packed rows of colorful yarn. The abstracted scene features children playing at recess in a schoolyard.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Central Kitsap School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Santa Barbara, California-based artist Macduff Everton creates fine art and documentary photographs, as well as fiber-based artworks. His portraits and landscape images are inspired by his world travels. He is a contributing editor at National Geographic Traveler. He received Bachelor of Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
