(American, born 1945)
Location: Auburn Riverside High School, Auburn
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Portraying the natural beauty of complex rock patterns and their reflections, photographer David Wilson composed Blue Pool to highlight the ambiguity between reflection and reality, and to play with perspective and scale.
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Auburn School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Northwest photographer David H. Wilson, Jr. creates abstracted landscape compositions that explore manipulated perspectives. This composition style allows the viewer to remove "a startling and original scene from its surroundings."
Wilson grew up in northern Ohio and earned a law degree from the University of Wisconsin. In 1974, he moved to Portland, Oregon, where he practiced law. He has had a lifelong interest and love for birding, canoeing, rafting, and the outdoors.
