ABOUT THE ARTIST
Frederick Heidel (1915-2000) was a Portland, Oregon-based painter and glass sculptor. Born in Corvallis, Oregon, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in painting from the University of Oregon. He went on to receive Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees from the Art Institute of Chicago. He received a grant to study in Holland's glass factories in 1968. He served as a professor of art at Portland State University from 1951 to 1980.
