Ann Gardner
(American, born 1947)

Location: Ferris High School, Spokane

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Journey is comprised of three colorful mosaic sculptures designed for the grand hall of Ferris High School by artist Ann Gardner. The three-dimensional leaf-like forms feature colors that evoke changing seasons, while the red color running throughout represents an individual's journey. This work symbolically explores the many connections experienced in high school. Gardner notes that these connections "follow students throughout their lives."

This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Spokane Public Schools.
