ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Ken Spiering uses imagery of daffodils—a significant crop in Orting, Washington—to signify the importance of establishing roots. The railroad, an addition that spurred Orting's early growth, brings the implication of travel and exploration, experiences that build upon a firm foundation.
