(American, born 1944)
Location: Representative Lillian Ortiz-Self's Office, Olympia
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Feathers #37 is part of a series of photographs by artist Mark Abrahamson that depict collected feathers of native and migratory birds, composed in a striking abstract composition. He notes "birds, like man, are highly evolved and are particularly susceptible to changes in the natural environment. The success or failure of the avian world to adapt to these changes may mirror our own chances at adaptation."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Centralia School District.
