ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Sauk Mountain, Pasture was captured by artist David Grant Best in the town of Rockport, Washington, along the Skagit River. He states that the imagery is intended to be viewed both as a fine art landscape and as a historical document, noting that "the pasture represents part of the story of human endeavor along the Skagit River."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Burlington-Edison School District.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Northwest photographer David Grant Best composes images of the natural environment and rural communities. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from the University of Washington in 1972.
