ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Loss is part of a series of prints by artist Wendy Briggs that layers photographic and hand drawn elements. She combines images of common objects with cultural symbols and historic images. She notes, "In the process of putting together an image or images to make a print I look for the value or spirit in a thing. I believe all things have a spirit that touch or talk in their way. All that is required of us is a kind of openness, slowed pace, and attention."
This artwork was acquired for the State Art Collection in partnership with Walla Walla Community College.
