Larry Dean Pentz

(American, born 1950)

Northwest artist Larry Dean Pentz creates cast metal sculptures. He notes, "I have always been intrigued by the metamorphosis of the earth's surface as it is continuously changing with time, wind, abrasion, erosion, sun, water, temperature, gravity along with animal and human activities."

Pentz studied industrial design at the Cleveland Institute of Art in Ohio. He pursued a Master's degree in sculpture at Kent State University in Ohio. He operates an aluminum foundry, Pentz Cast Solutions. He began the foundry in 1972, moving to Seattle in 1979, and to San Juan Island in North Puget Sound, Western Washington, in 1997.
