Anacortes Creative District

Situated on Fidalgo Island and surrounded by the Salish Sea, Anacortes boasts 2,800 acres of protected community forestland with an extensive trail system for outdoor enthusiasts. With a rich maritime history and beautiful surroundings, Anacortes has also come to be known for its vibrant creative culture. In the heart of Downtown Anacortes, you’ll find artists, musicians, dancers, public art, artisan food, craftspeople, boat builders, museums and festivals.

The arts are a vital component of a healthy and vibrant community. Partnering with community organizations, the Anacortes Creative District aims to support and promote their community as a hub for creative people and creative opportunities.

The District’s mission is to collaborate with local business leaders and other arts organizations within the community to create these economic opportunities, as well as identify resources and support for creative endeavors. Their goals are to enhance public engagement, drive capital improvements, and encourage growth of local businesses within the creative economy.

*The Anacortes Arts Festival will serve as the Anacortes Creative District administrator. After 63 years, the Festival is Anacortes’ oldest and largest arts organization located in the heart of the Creative District.
