National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Partnership Agreement

The Washington State Arts Commission (WSAC) recently submitted a Partnership Agreement application to the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). WSAC receives significant funding from the NEA through the State Partnership program ($837,500 for Fiscal Year 2010).

The NEA uses a staggered, multi-year review for the Partnership Agreements. While each SAA must submit an application annually, those states that have satisfactorily addressed the requirements and review criteria receive three-year approval of their proposals (a simple one-page application is then required in off-years). Partnership Agreement panels review complete applications for approximately one-third of the states each year.

This year was an on-year application for WSAC requiring a great deal of detail regarding staffing, commissioners, our strategic plan, and a fourteen page narrative description of our planning process, plan implementation, accomplishments, etc.
