Art in Public Places - Selection Criteria

The Public Artist Roster competition jury evaluates artistic excellence and technical abilities as demonstrated in previous commissioned artwork. The jury considers the artist’s potential to work at a scale and in materials appropriate for commissioned, permanent artwork in public places.

It is recommended that artists with limited public art experience provide images and descriptions addressing durability of materials, scale of artwork, and/or possible approaches to site responsive public art projects. See an example of an image submission from rostered artist Wayne Chabre.
