Dewey Decimal's Delegation, by Tacoma artist Otto Youngers, was installed in August, 2008. Consisting of four large wooden 'books' and dozens of fun and funny objects, figures, vehicles, flying pencils, a rocket ship, a dragon and more, the entire sculpture consists of recycled and reclaimed wood.

In the artists' words, "Dewey Decimal's Delegation exemplifies the possibilities of the imagination when reading and learning, the pop-up books are portals to other worlds."

Artwork acquired through Washington State’s Art in Public Places Program becomes part of the State Art Collection - a collection of over 4,600 works of art located at state agencies, public schools, colleges and universities throughout the state.
