Art in Public Places - For Artists

The Art in Public Places program works to integrate public art into the
state’s built environment to advance community aesthetics and dialogue. The program directly supports artists, providing employment, exposure, and the opportunity to create public artworks.

 

  • Anticipated number of commission projects beginning fall 2007: 40
  • Anticipated artwork funding, 2007 – 2008: nearly $2 million
  • Artwork budgets: $25,000 - $300,000+
  • Number of artists active in the Public Artist Roster: nearly 400
  • Artwork partners, whose sites are home to the State Art Collection: Public Schools, State Agencies, Colleges, and Universities

 

The Public Artist Roster competition will open in late April. The application deadline will be June 16, 2008 at 5 pm.
