Additionally Commissioners John Fraire, of Pullman, and Elizabeth Conner, of Seattle, have been appointed for second terms.

In June, Speaker of the House Frank Chopp announced that State Representative Zack Hudgins, Tukwila, has been appointed to the Washington State Arts Commission. Hudgins replaces former State Representative and long-time arts-supporter Lynn Kessler.

“These newly appointed Commissioners bring fresh perspectives and a diverse range of knowledge and experience to the Board of the Commission, and to the issues and challenges facing the arts in Washington State” said Kris Tucker, executive director of the Washington State Arts Commission.

Commissioners guide the direction, set policy for the Commission, and advise the Governor and Legislators on the state of the arts in Washington. There are 23 positions, including four legislators and 19 members appointed by the Governor.
