Her jewelry has been published in Ornament, Metalsmith, American Craft and Sculpture magazines, as well as in many books. In 2005 she was a recipient of an Artist Trust Fellowship. Worden has been teaching college students and adults for many years and middle and high school students since 2002.
When asked about her approach as a Teaching Artist, Ms. Worden wrote this: “My goal is to give students a vehicle for their voice. I do this by introducing students to materials and hand tools. I am a practicing artist in a field that has exposed me to many different art techniques. I can design and fabricate objects with wood and metal, make a mold and cast a form, forge, solder and etch metal. I also know many textile techniques. Because of the wide range of my technical skills, I am able to show students what the world is made of and how it is made. When I design curriculum, I start with a topic that the classroom teacher suggests. My knowledge of art history and my experience designing cultural artifact exhibits for the Northwest Folklife Festival enrich the content of my curriculum. I teach about a culture through its art. Students have the opportunity to look at the objects from that culture and they also have the opportunity to work in the techniques used to produce those objects. My goal is to offer students a chance to succeed in their experience with art.”
