Arts in Education - Roster of Teaching Artists

Welcome to the newly updated Roster of Teaching Artists: a resource directory of high quality teaching artists who are especially well suited for working with K-12 public schools. Deadline for applications is June 2, 2008.

The teaching artists included in this roster are strong individual artists who are also experienced educators, and are able to support classroom teachers by making connections between their art form and the Washington State standards in the arts.

Many of these teaching artists are also skilled in integrating arts concepts with concepts in other subject areas, such as dancing and math, or drawing and literacy. And many also have particular skills and interests related to professional development for classroom teachers, or working with specific student populations.

In the Current Roster you will find summary information about these skills and interests on each teaching artist’s individual webpage; we encourage you to contact the artists directly to learn more about their skills, teaching approach, and availability for workshops and residencies.

The teaching artists included on this roster went through a competitive application process and were evaluated and approved by a panel of arts education experts.
