The AERI website and booklet are based primarily on the Arts Education Resources Initiative: The State of Arts Education in the State report (click here to download PDF) by contracted researchers Gerri Spilka and Susy Watts. All K-12 principals in the State of Washington received the initial survey with a 21% response rate. Referenced case studies were selected by the Washington State Arts Commission; these case studies are from the respondents who elected to participate in the survey and the subsequent site visit interviews identified through the research protocol. Arts for Every Student contains information from extended interviews conducted by the editors, as well as examples of cultural education from John Stanford International School, that were not part of the research report.

The Arts Implementation Task Force provided additional insights and material.

Reviewers include: Dr. Terry Bergeson, State Superintendent of Public Instruction; Linda Bellon-Fisher, former WSAC Arts in Education Program Manager; Monte Bridges; Lisa Fitzhugh; Julia Garnett; Dwight Gee; Mark Gerth; Debbi Hardy; Mary Alice Heuschel; Gretchen Johnston; AnnRené Joseph; Rex Kerbs; Mickey Lahmann; Una McAlinden; Dorothy McCuistion; Martha Nichols; and Michael Sandner.

Photos from Mountain Meadow Elementary, International Arts Consortium, Arts Impact, and Chris Bennion, all used with permission.

Funding for the AERI project was provided by Washington Mutual.

Strategic advice, editorial assistance, and graphic design for the AERI website and booklet were provided by Rachel Lodge and Marie McCaffrey.
