The Washington State Arts Commission (WSAC) adopted new rules under the Washington Administrative Code (Title WAC 30) governing many aspects of our business. These new rules took affect December 18, 2010.

 

Background

The proposal notice was published in the Washington State Register on September 1, 2010.


The purpose of this rule proposal is to improve WSAC’s rules to:

  • Better inform the public about agency programs and practices
  • Clarify responsibilities of staff and commissioners

A Concise Explanatory Statement (PDF) is required by the Administrative Procedure Act (RCW 34.05) and is published after the rules are adopted. Changes made to the propsed rules are explained in the statement.

 

Public Hearing

A public hearing was held in our offices in Olympia on October 18, 2010 starting at 4 pm at 711 Capitol Way S., Suite 600 in our conference room. The public was invited to attend in person or via webinar to provide oral comments on the proposed rules.

 

Submitting Comments

Comment period ended November 2, 2010 at 5 pm; at that time, no public comments had been received.

 

Commissin Adoption

Rules were adopted by the Commission at the Nov. 4, 2010 Commission Meeting; the Final Rules were filed with the Code Revisers Office.
