Kris Tucker Executive Director

Kris Tucker has been the Executive Director of the Washington State Arts Kris Tucker, Executive DirectorCommission since her appointment by Governor Locke in 1999, she was reappointed by Governor Gregoire in 2005.

She is a leader in the state and national arts community and a tenacious advocate for the arts. Kris leads an 17 member staff that supports the arts as essential to our quality of life, and social, educational, and economic growth.

Kris Tucker is a Trustee and Board Treasurer of the Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF), and is active with the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA). She holds a master's degree in Whole Systems Design from Antioch University in Seattle.

In addition to her passion and dedication to the arts, she enjoys many activities, including cooking, kayaking, poetry, and wandering.
