About Heritage Caucus

The Heritage Caucus is a public meeting of legislators, state agencies, nonprofit organizations, and members of the public who are interested in heritage and culture. The weekly meeting is held at the Capitol in Olympia every Wednesday morning of a legislative session from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. in the ABC Conference Room of the Cherberg Building. The current co-chairs are Sen. Jim Honeyford (R-Dist. 15) and Rep. Steve Tharinger (D-Dist. 24). 

The Heritage Caucus is staffed by two state agencies, the Washington Historical Society and the Washington State Arts Commission (ArtsWA). 

Presentation Requests

Heritage, culture, and arts organizations may request to present to the Heritage Caucus. Requested presentation dates are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please send an email outlining your presentation request to Mark Vessey at the Washington State Historical Society.
